We here at Clinovo regularly attend networking events in the SF Bay Area, and are always looking for new opportunities to network with peers!

For your convenience, we have compiled this list of groups that are organizing some quality events of note in the Bay Area. Please feel free to improve this list by commenting and recommending adding relevant groups we may have missed!

 


BayBio

> DescriptionBayBio is the life science association of Northern California. Boasting over 500 members, BayBio supports the regional bioscience community through advocacy, enterprise support, and enhancement of research collaboration. Their mission is to maintain Northern California’s leadership in life science innovation by fostering entrepreneurship, science education and life science career development through the BayBio Institute. We particularly like their open networking events, VC conferences, and mixers throughout the year!

Bio2Device Group

> DescriptionThe Bio2Device Group (B2DG) is a networking organization for San Francisco Bay Area professionals in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics and other life science industry fields. Their insightful weekly programs are designed to keep members up-to-date with industry news, help them explore other industry sectors, and provide networking opportunities with other life science professionals from all industry sectors and corporate functions. Clinovo has presented several times at the B2DG – we support their initiative and applaud the quality of their educational events! The B2DG also hosts a moderated LinkedIn Group to facilitate communication among members.

> Description: Silicon Valley BioTalks is Clinovo’s panel discussion event for pharmaceutical and medical device professionals in the Bay Area to build their knowledge and expertise. Each event centers on a significant industry topic and provides a forum to promote meaningful conversation and raise awareness of current trends and issues in the field. It is organized by Clinovo every 3 to 4 months and is hosted by different members of our sponsor and partner network. Since its launch, the Silicon Valley BioTalks series has gathered over 600 clinical trials professionals from the Bay Area and beyond. The event attracts numerous high-level clinical trials professionals from clinical affairs, data management, and biometrics departments. The panel has featured over 30 clinical trials industry experts from leading life science companies including Roche, Abbott, Santen Pharmaceutical, Elan Pharmaceuticals, and Johnson & Johnson. The BioTalks also has its own LinkedIn group!

> Frequency: Every 3 to 4 months.

> Location: South San Francisco – Redwood City – Palo Alto.

Ph-- USE

> Description: Ph– USE has actually expanded from its roots as a conference for European Statistical Programmers, to a global platform for the discussion of topics encompassing the work of Data Managers, Biostatisticians, Clinical Data Scientists and eClinical IT professionals. The organization hosts single-day events once a year in the SF Bay Area, along with the Annual Computational Science Symposium in the east coast, a yearly event which aims to advance clinical data science through working groups. Attendees are primarily statistical programmers and biostatisticians. Clinovo will be sponsoring the next Ph– USE single-day event at Genentech on September 26th, 2014.

BioScience Forum

> Description: The BioScience Forum (BioSF) conducts educational activities relating to the life sciences, including biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacology, biology, genetics, and bioinformatics. BioScience Forum’s primary aim is to organize monthly educational events focusing on life science topics. Generally, the monthly meetings involve a no-host gathering, a dinner, and an evening lecture by a distinguished speaker, followed by a question-and-answer period. All events are open to the public and attendees are charged to cover event costs. We particularly appreciate the format of the events: attendees can enjoy a dinner with their peers and watch an expert present his/her work. The crowd is varied and attracts professionals across healthcare, clinical trial, technical, and scientific sectors.

ClinOps.SM_1

> Description: Nadia Bracken created the Clinical Operations Toolkit to network with like-minded clinical research professionals in the SF Bay Area. Clinovo, ClinOps Toolkit, and Patient Profiles recently hosted an exciting event at the Bay Club in Redwood Shores, the heart of the Silicon Valley biotech scene. Clinical trial and eClinical system experts shared their specific experiences, challenges, and insights on obtaining and managing quality clinical trial data.
